Compassionate care through every season.
For many, this season is about anticipating the first snowfall, buying gifts for loved ones, and debating what holiday movie to agree on as family members arrive. But for others, the dark days feel heavy, especially in the face of a holiday with an empty chair due to the loss of a loved one or the anticipation of this being the last season together.
We are here to show up for you during these hard seasons of life.
Your hospice team at Tri-Cities Chaplaincy is dedicated to helping hospice patients live in the ways that are most valuable to them.
We are also committed to walking alongside loved ones now and through grief so that each person’s legacy can live on.
TESTIMONIAL
Her Story. Our Care.
Maybe you can resonate with Mary’s story:
Mary knew what hospice meant, as her husband had died at our hospice house years before. But she did not expect to be on hospice herself. As time went on, she was scared but reluctant to discuss her fear.
“We are a family that keeps to ourselves,” Mary explained.
Over time, however, and with continued support from our team, something shifted. “The social worker helped me open up and share what was going on. As I shared with the team, I felt lighter.”
As the team continues to walk alongside Mary, the fear she once carried regarding end of life has been replaced with peace. Perhaps most meaningful has been what hospice gave back to Mary.
“I’ve learned to communicate with my family in a way that is joyful,” Mary shared. “I’m able to spend more time with them as a whole.”
When asked what hospice has provided, Mary replied, “Hospice has given me everything.”
Your generosity allows us to continue this work.
Many hospices are struggling to bring patients onto crucial end-of-life services due to lack of staffing and reduced reimbursement. Chaplaincy, however, remains committed to reaching every family that needs us when they are ready.
This last year, we served more than 1,000 hospice patients while also walking alongside their loved ones through their grief journeys. This January, we are re-opening our hospice house, thereby restoring a resource few communities are fortunate to have: a place where compassionate care permeates every moment.
